Can Sharapova repeat it at Wimbledon this season?
“I am competent enough to once again triumph in my darling Wimbledon”, claimed the 17th seeded Maria Sharapova in pre-tournament press conference in London. The tennis sensation from Russia has already won two other Grand Slam Tournaments apart from Wimbledon this year. Sharapova is also a former world number one player who is aiming to clinch another victory at the All England Club. This season, Maria has obtained a record $80m (£54m) contract of Nike and has proved to be one of the luckiest endorsed tennis women all around the world. Her life, however, has hardly been smooth. She has not met her mother for the next one and a half years which has affected her tennis as well.

Sharapova was only able to make it big in tennis through hard work and struggle. Her father from the very start was confident about her daughter’s talent which was why he shifted Maria to America in 1994. It must have been extremely lonesome for a young girl in a totally different country. The girl hardly had any time to socialize and spent hours in practising and building her character in the tennis court.

With the same determination, Sharapova managed to come out of her more current affliction as well. She took an entire season off and worked on her injured arm. However, the girl remained positive and never even thought of giving up for a single moment.

Some six years ago, Maria triumphed at Wimbledon and staggered everyone including her own self. She made her way into the finals along with Serena Williams after successfully facing all her opponents. A win at Wimbledon at a tender age of 17 years came for Sharapova as a shock apart from the rest of the world. However, the Russian tennis ace did exhibit a wonderful display of tennis beyond any one’s imagination.

Sharapova’s lengthy back swing that she has applied on her serve for long basically caused her injury. However, her confidence has really boosted up with her return to the game last month.

Maria last week in Birmingham on a grass court performed really well before she lost the match against the Chinese tennis star Li Na with 7-5, 6-1. But she is expected to be electrified at Wimbledon which is going to start within a period of one week. The 17th seeded Maria is just fond of Wimbledon and it is surely her favourite Grand Slam that she values the most. The tennis ace from Russia is quite hopeful for winning Wimbledon this time. However, will she really be able to repeat the history once again?

Maria’s spirit and desire stays compelling beyond any doubt. She is also confident to be around the centre of consideration in the women's draw. The Russian tennis ace has done all her home work for the upcoming Wimbledon. The girl has definitely learnt from her recent French Open experiences as well and is looking forward for the upcoming week.

Sasha Vujacic, her boyfriend who is a basket ball player is tangled in the NBA finals between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles. According to Maria Sharapova, he will try to make it up for Wimbledon. Maria on the other hand seems to be leaving behind no stone unturned as far as her preparations are concerned. Her passion as well as spirit of learning is definitely skyrocketing.

Sharapova apart from her professional life also strongly sticks to the values that her parents have given her about her high character. It consistently knocks her mind that while being a good and successful professional, it is equally important to be a good human being as well.
