My brother lately has been wanting to go to a doctor because he has been experiencing nervousness and panic attacks. I attributed it to being anxious from not having a job, but he thinks he seriously has a problem. I recently drank 2 bags of sleepytime tea, and that night I felt like I was seriously drugged. Maybe it was because I usally don't drink it, but all my symptoms were the same as my brothers... but he gets his during the days sometimes. He drinks 2 bags of Celestial Seasonings Extra Sleepytime Tea with valarian every night before he goes to bed. He claims it's only "calming" So, is it possible that his "panic attacks" are because of a dependancy on the tea or something?

  1. That's a little abnormal.  I used to drink that stuff like water when I couldn't fall asleep (ran out of sleeping pills) and I never had any side affects like that.  Maybe it's the combination of the Sleepy Time tea with the valerian that is making him "paranoid".  What I did find while drinking that tea was that I became dependant on it to fall asleep, so maybe since he it needs to "calm himself down", he might have panic attacks when the tea isn't in his system.
