I vaguely remember a video in the past and on it I believe a major Bay Area company ( Google or Microsoft ? ) used Solar Power Cells to power ( or help power ) a buidling.

  1. While solar cells can power a house I think the cost is not reasonable.

  2. Possible, yes; reasonable, no.  At least if by reasonable you mean competative with purchased power from conventional generating stations.

  3. My house is 148% solar power. I sell to the electric company 48% of my electricity. Just got to have generators for emergencies and plenty of batteries and panels and a knowledge in solar power systems. Solar panels can coast a lot but the energy it converts pays for it self and keeps going..

  4. Yes many solar powered homes make more power than they need a lot of the time and they sell the surplus back to the utility company and receive a check for that surplus.

  5. Very easily power a home.

Google installed solar on their offices and parking lot.

Look at the roof tops. Lots and lots of Sharp Brand Panels. But it does look like the missed a couple of spots where they could have put more.
