This might not be the greatest place to ask that question.

What has worked for me and several of my friends is Network Marketing.  Yes, it is also referred to as MLM.  Don't be alarmed, I'm not trying to get you scammed.  MLM got a really bad reputation in the 70's because of Amway's challenges.  But now, MLM has come a long way and it's actually gotten to be a legitimate means of earning a living.  Even Warren Buffet is invested in Pampered Chef which is a Network Marketing enterprise.  There are several good names out there in addition to Pampered Chef - like Avon, Mary Kay,  Creative Memories, Partylite, Arbonne, etc.  The thing you have to be really careful about with these Network Marketing businesses is that, the company has to have a marketable product.  If they are telling you that there is no "selling" involved because all you have to do is get your friends to be in your downline while they don't even want to mention the crappy window cleaner and detergent they sell, then stay away.  That's all baloney stuff.  A marketing business relies on the product they sell and not the number of people they can get to sign up.  Personally, I sell Arbonne products.  The reason I chose Arbonne is because I use the products myself.  I would buy the products whether or not I'm in the business (they specialize in vegan skin care products that are "pure, safe, and beneficial").  So, it is easy for me to get people to try it because I know it works.  I don't do parties though, I just go drop off a bag of Arbonne products for people to try and pick it up 3 days later.  I've done well with that technique.  My friend markets Avon products.  She goes with catalog sales - she just drops off catalogs to her mailing list and she gets sales that way.  My other friend markets candles (can't remember the name - some Canyon thing).  She does open houses.  She just emails everybody that she is having an open house for her candles and sells a ton that way.  And then my Pampered Chef sister-in-law does the parties.  I have been successful in getting a few people selling for me (I got to Area Manager) and I have to say, that's a really good way to earn residual income.  Anyway, check out some of the companies I mentioned above and see if it is something you'd like to try.  If you want to try Arbonne, email me.  Good luck!

You don't describe what, if any, skills that you possess. There are thousands of home businesses depending on what you are able to do. Don't expect to find one that's legit AND easy, though-you still have to work for your living.

Here's a blog that I saw that has a lot of different Home Business opportunities.  I know a lot of people who have their own home based business in some of these, so I know they are not scams.  There are over half a dozen different industries that you can take a look at.  Also I read information on what to look for to making sure they're not scams.  I think this blog would be very helpful to you.
