so for example...any car...what is the make and what is the model??

The make is which company produced the vehicle. The model is what kind of car it is.

"make" is a shorter way of saying "who makes it", otherwise known as the manufacturer.

Ford is a 'make', and they have many models like Explorer, F-150, Mustang, etc.
