Can Someone please explain this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson?

"All truely great moments in history have involved the facilities of performance through the strength of ideas."

I have to wright an AP English essay on it, and I'm having trouble understanding the meaning.

Basically it means that all of the great things that have occurred  were accomplished because of the manifestation of great ideas.

great moments are great because of the great ideas that made them.  i think thats the simpliest way to xplain it.
