Can Squidoo help me in increasing my website's ranking in Google search result?

I read that Squidoo is becoming popular for getting high ranking on Google, but I was wondering how could I utilize Squidoo to increase my websites ranking.

Hi,

I have a lot of experience marketing small companies online (I have 3 companies).  One of the best ways is to sign up at business directories and protals.  These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book).  The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they're ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.

My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive.  I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a person enter's their company info.  I received it in the mail 3 days ago =)

Yes, Squidoo will helps a lot for website ranking in google. It is a website designed to make it easy for anyone, for free, to set up a single page on a topic he or she knows or cares a lot about.

When you create a Squidoo Lens you create tags for it. These tags are used to categorize your lens. Your lens and other lenses have links to these tag pages. The tag pages link back to all of the lenses that use that tag. This means that when you create a new lens your lens automaticly gets links from the tag pages on the Squidoo site. Which increases the PageRank for your Lens.

Squidoo is becoming very popular and most of its content are now automatically indexed by Google which is the place where search engine optimization comes into picture.

In order to utilize the full power of Squidoo you have to do followings

1) Create Lens

2) Write/Blog - Make sure that you really write interesting post. A dull post is not going to be popular.

3) Import blogs from your external blog website if you have any

4) Add Links/Interactive links

5) Promote - Invite your friends, spread the word.

Also keep adding more features (Widgets and other elements) to your lens and keep updating posts regularly.

Squidoo is one of the most popular tools that can help you Index in Google very quickly. However you have to do keyword research and find out the competition for your keywords. For example if you are trying to rank for 'Make Money Online' keyword in Squidoo, it is absolutely impossible for you to do so since there are millions of sites competing for that keyword.

So you have to find alternate keywords that would have lesser competition but will give you a higher chance to rank higher in Google using Squidoo.
