Can Swift Frogma make up for July 30 loss?
Though Swift Frogma made many glaring marks in this season, but his unlucky failure in the final game of Stadium Bookmakers 480m Trophy was a big loss indeed.
Having won the opening Heat of that high-stakes tournament by beating the hot favourite rival, Bowtime Regan, by 3 ½ lengths on July 23, the G. Ballentine trained brindle dog was full of confidence, but the punters did not give him the favourite tag for
the final contest that took place on 30th.
In the £400 final, Swift Frogma fought well but the favourite runner, Mottos Blue, dashed all his efforts to ground and won the race emphatically.
After more than three months, the two-year-old veteran hound is on the verge of another final today. But this time, he is the 2-1 favourite candidate for the £500 open race entitled as Stadium Bookmakers 480m Gents Trophy Final.
As the contest is set to begin in a few hours at Nottingham racecourse, all the sport fans and bettors, who have put their money on him, have just one question in their minds----can Swift Frogma compensate for the loss he suffered in the last final?
The answer can be yes, not because of the fact that the dog is favourite but for the improvement he has made in recent months.
After July 30, the talented son of Kinloch Brae out of Vatican Reba had just a few starts, and he spent most of the time during August and September to perk up his racing stamina under the guidance of Ballentine.
That extensive workout paid the dog off well when he ran and won Stadium Bookmakers 480m Gents Trophy - Heat 2 on November 5 while being the 5-4 favourite. He beat Orlandos Court by 4 ¼ lengths.
At the moment, Swift Frogma is packed with momentum that will definitely lend a big hand to him tonight.
Among his rivals, no one can challenge him potentially except Burnpark Sparky who bagged an A2 and an A1 victory in October before winning the opening Heat of this tournament.
The two dogs are likely to compete neck-to-neck, but Swift Frogma will walk away with victory. Good luck to him.
