  1. He's got  a decent track record, but will Wales ever settle, there is no way a team will function if they keep replacing coach after coach, it seems like the Welsh team have to get used to a new coach almost every 2 years, its not possible to instantly become a great team, the players have to take some of the blame! if gatland was given a min of 3-4 years then he could put in place a long term plan, since he has been at wasps they won 2 heiniken cups....Every team has bad seasons and even Ireland didnt make it out of our group in the world cup, initially they will struggle under a new coach but given time he (Gatland) will pull through for wales. Immediate success is down to the players on the field

  2. Well he litterrally only has two weeks - with the players..to turn it around against England at twickenham - so I doubt it.....it is fortunate really that the guy has four years and so to judge him on the six nations is rediculous..

It all comes down to how bad the previous coach was..If as seems possible the chap was a clueless moron...then there is a good chance we will be competitive. Unfortunately we have a lot of injuries again...and a lot of players out of form.. so Wales it seems - are still at the beginning of their ten year cycle of misery before having any hope of winning things..

  3. If you think success is an improvement on last years place then yes, they might come 4th this year, 3rd if they're lucky.

If success is winning it, then no.

They won't win it. They just don't have the players.

  4. I feel kind of "funky" saying this but I have to say that I tend to agree with nonenzedder

Gatland is a brilliant coach but good things take time. It would be unreasonably to expect any fresh coach to turn things around so quickly.

Bear in mind that it him took two seasons to get the Waikato boys in line and working toward victory.

Wales have talent in terms of players, sporadic moments of recent brilliance, tempered with monumental moments of lunacy.

Patterns of performance that suggest coaching and captaincy issues.

Give the man some time, although, he is no novice to his surroundings and team Gats may just be the dark horse in the six nations.
