Can That Reveal Breast Cancer????

Hi, I was wondering can a blood test for ceoliac reveal any sort of cancer? (especially breast cancer) Please help !

Blood tests will not reveal if cancer is present in the body. It might give clues . . that are than followed up by more intensive and specific testing. In general the only way to tell if a tumor or nodule is malignant is by doing a biopsy.

No it can’t, for a couple of reasons. Some cancers have tumor markers that show up in the blood ant they are different for each cancer, but many cancers have no tumor marker at all. None of them are sensitive enough to diagnose cancer unless there is very advanced and it is not unusual for a person with cancer to have a normal tumor marker.

The other reason is when the doctor writes the order for the lab he or she states specifically what they want done. So unless they state to check for a specific marker it will not be done. For example alcohol can be detected in the blood, but it will not be detected even if you had couple of drinks unless the doctor asked them to look for it.
