Can Tiger Woods overcome his inconsistency?
By far, this has been one of the best years for Tiger. He has won three titles, nobody else has managed to do that this year. His recent victory at the AT&T National took him to the second place for the most number of PGA wins. He has now 74 wins, just ten
behind the world record of 84 held by Sam Snead.
Currently, Tiger is chasing two feats, one is for the most number of PGA wins and the second one of Jack Nicklaus, for the highest number major victories.
Tiger is not very far behind. If he continues his uphill drive, he will surely overcome those to achievements in a few years’ time.
Tiger Woods is playing some excellent golf but his only concern is his inconsistency. Plus, another thing that has been giving him some problems is his short game. He definitely needs to improve on that if he has to become more consistent in his performances.
For one reason or the other, Tiger has always remained in headlines. However, this time he is in the news for all the right reasons.
The former world number one is currently enjoying the best of his times. He is currently leading the FedEx Cup points and is sitting comfortably at number four in the world rankings.
No matter what Tiger as gone through, the Tiger loyalists have always supported him through thick and thin.  His fans still believe that Tiger can once again reach his peak heights and he certainly can, looking by his performances this season.
Many had written off Tiger Woods. They thought, after his divorce, his time has come to an end and he should retire. Nevertheless, Tiger emerged more determined than ever and proved his critics wrong.
Tiger Woods has not won a major since 2008. He was in good form going in to the majors this season as well, but he faded at the wrong time.
Tiger can break this jinx at the Open Championship, which due in a couple of weeks but for that he needs to be more consistent with his game and performances.
This season, Tiger’s performances have a specific pattern. Before every major, he has been in sublime form but as soon he tees off in the major, for some reason, he fades away.
Earlier this year, he had a few top-10 finishes, until he won at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Going in the Masters, he was in sublime form but he had a poor finish at the tournament, finishing T40 in the end.
He then missed a cut and finished T40 at The Players Championship. Later on, once again, he hit his stride and won at the Memorial.
People thought that this time he will be able to end his major’s drought by winning the US Open. However, again he finished poorly, way below at T21, considering the fact that he was leading the championship at one point.
Next up was the AT&T National, the tournament which he hosts himself. He ended up securing a victory at the Congressional Golf and Country Club.
Now with The Open around the corner, people feel that he needs to break this pattern of inconsistency if he has to end his major drought.
The Open starts on the 19th of July at the Royal Lytham.
The way Tiger is playing currently, anything can be expected from him. So, Tiger fans, keep your fingers crossed, you never know what he might come up with.
