Can Tortoises eat Herbs?

Can Tortoises eat Herbs like coriander, mint etc? I have never fed him herbs, but always have a lot of them in my house so was wondering if anyone knew if its ok?

  1. Leafy herbs are fine. They won't like things like rosemary.


  2. Yes as part of a balanced diet comprising of weeds such as dandelion, clover, plantain etc.

  3. some they eat, they can eat coriander,  flat leaved parsley, oregano, and basil, i buy the living plants at the supermarket and plant them in their pen they do like them, but i would avoid mint as i have never seen it on any recommended safe plant list so it is better to be safe than sorry, hope this helps best of luck.

  4. yes, tortoises, especially adults eat things like lettuce, tomatoes(occasionally), and stuff like that.
