There are not any cute Twin XL comforters that I can find versus Twin. If I buy a Twin comforter will it still fit?

  1. If just the comforter/quilt is twin yes it should work. Sheets however will not work. The XL beds are longer than twin beds by about 6 inches so the fitted sheets don't fit properly (and trust me they are a necessity unless you want to sleep within close proximity to old s***n).

What I did was I found a cute twin size comforter and then I just bought some plain colored XL sheets. The comforter just BARELY fit (it hung over the bottom about 4 inches instead of the normal 6-12 inches). I also bought some cute colored pillows to match.

My roommate went all out and had a king size comforter (don't ask) and I swear that thing ate her up at night because I would look over and all I could see was just a massive pile of orange fabric. She eventually downsized to a full and even that size was massive on the bed.

  2. It will probably still cover your bed (the surface), but won't hang over the end (foot) very much.  A twin XL is about five inches longer than a regular twin.  Twin XL dimensions are 39" wide x 80" long.  Figure out how much you really need to hang over, then go shopping and look at the dimensions of the comforters that you like.

You might do better to get a double/full sized one, and have it hang over too much, or you can cut the excess off the one side if you can sew a bit--or if your bed is against a wall, tuck all the extra in on that side.  That way, you won't have to risk not being covered up enough when it gets colder.

  3. Yes it will fit. I used a regular twin comforter all 4 years and it was fine!

  4. absolutely -they're just a bit smaller, but a twin bed perfectly.

  5. oh definitely. it just may not cover the full length of the bed...but you probably don't need all that length anyways.

you'll want XL sheets, etc, though - otherwise, they won't fit the mattress.

  6. Have you looked at Amazon?  Here's a link.  Good luck!
