Can UC students receive Cal Grants?

I have been attending a community college for 2 years and have received both a Pell Grant and a Cal Grant for Financial Aid. I will be transferring in the Fall 08 to UC Irvine and to ensure my Aid, I renewed my FAFSA on time. The Financial Aid office at the community college told me that my Cal Grant will be automatically renewed (as did my 2nd year), but that the award given would change since I am transferring to a UC. Today, I checked out my Awards @ UCI for the Fall, but I only see my Pell Grant and UC Irvine Grant. Is the UC Irvine Grant the same as the Cal Grant? I doubt it, but the Cal Grant doesn't appear anywhere. I went to the website, but the system is down. I know I should of heard from them on April the 30th, and it's already May 1st. What should I do?

I believed so. California Grant should be available for UC school.

Call your student financial aid advisers, they will be able to tell you if you can still receive this grant.
