Can UK councils, (The London Borough of Bromley), have road signs pointing in the wrong direction so that they cannot be easily seen and enforce the related penalties or is that not some kind of entrapment.

After all if you have for example purchased a parking ticket or have some kind of parking exemption badge you must clearly display it in your car when parking in the related, restricted parking area or get a fine.

surely the councils must also display their signs clearly or can the councils have road signs pointing in the wrong direction so that they cannot be easily seen and enforce the related penalties.

While it is clear that a great deal of common sense must be used while driving regardless of road signs and whether you can see them or not, it would be impossible to know all the different parking restriction with out the signs to let you know

Does any one know what is the legal situation here, or what the law says on this subject or where I can find more information

Thanks
