not in our current situation. considering all the money we have spent in the war we have right now....

It would be a horrific world war in which our best case scenario is merely isolated strategic nuclear strikes. Russia, China, Eastern block, multiple muslim countries and rogue statues would all gang up against us.

Britian would likely try and keep the EU out of it as long as possible.

Basically yes tis would be a battle with troops on US soil.

Bombings, rapings, occupied territory, the works.

A war of that magnitude would spin the entire course of human civilization off into a bloody poverty stricken tangent.

All that is a given. And what if America eventually was forced to surrender?

The answer is no.

Win, lose or truce such a campaign would kill millions, cost trillions, wreak long term massive environmental damage and splinter many nations into tribal ganglands.

No USA cannot face Russia in a war. no, no no.

No.   Thanks to Clinton gutting the military and Bush using what was left in Iraq and Afghanistan,  the USA can not do much unless it wants to shoot off a few nukes.  

20 years from now?  If it looked like down the road there was going to be a war,  The USA could gear up for it and win.   Unless China gets involved.  Then whoever China sides with will win.

if you ever have a reason to thank and respect mr bush it will be for not interveening with military responce towards a russian re-expansion effort,, its best to cut funding and aid to the russians like punnishing a child without spanking them coz this child will throw a tantrum and spit all its dummies /passifyers out oif the buggy.. just be thankful that your not yet one of the casualties effected by this madness

Are you kidding? Did you see how antiquated their military is now? They should have been able to over run the Georgians in a matter of hours. A single 101st Apache squadron could have eliminated their entire Armored column in a matter of 20 minutes without a single loss.

The U.S. eliminated 10,000 of the same such vehicles in a matter of hours in Iraq. If you don't have the stand off range there is nothing you can do but die in place. That is what the Russians would be facing.
