  1. well thats her decision isnt it as long as she doesnt eat the meat its fine in my book animals need meat they were made to eat in unlike people

  2. No for me. I wouldn't cook meat or carry meat or buy lunch for somebody who wanted to have meat. Dogs are different, on one hand a dog should be a carnivore but if you buy them meat, then you are still buying meat which comes from animals enslaved by humans, who have suffered and that isn't the natural way a dog would treat his/her pray. The thing about animals killed in the wild is that they go about their lives and then if a predator need t eat them, then they have a chance to get away and if not then at least they didn't live their entire lives for somebody elses cause. I hear you can get vegan dog food, but i've never seen any. What I think is important is to not feed your pets any dairy foods.

  3. That's completely up to her and her own beliefs.

  4. well it's her desision but ithink it's not on cause she is a Vegan. i'd rather buy a dog food then cook meat if i was a Vegan

  5. that should be okay,

  6. A vegan chooses not to eat meat, that is their choice.  If you are feeding your dog on a meat diet it is better to cook the meat yourself rather than feed the tins, at least you know what you are feeding your dog.

I think it is fine for a vegan to feed their pets meat, try and buy(if possible) organic and free-range, maybe from a local farmer if you have one nearby.

My health is NOT at risk by being a vegan, but I firmly believe my cats health WOULD be, if I hadn't taken him in, he most probably would of been dead by now! And that wouldn't of been very vegan of me!

  7. That should be okay--it's for her dog.  Many vegans live with omnivores and have to cook meat for the family.  Well, a dog is a member of her family.

I could not cook meat for my cat, so I feed her the stuff from natural foods stores.  And I refuse to buy foods that contain dairy because she's a 17-year-old cat, not a baby cow.

  8. I am vegan, I am also a chef and i cook every type of meat you can think of and for the sake of seasoning, I even take one for the team and have to have a taste of these meats and sauces. I spit it back out but its not the meat iam tasting, its the seasoning.  I don't have a problem with cooking meat or using dairy products. I  became vegan because i developed a dislike for meat and dairy. honestly, it depends on what she believes is right or wrong. nobody's judging.

  9. I think that it is fine. I personally do not eat meat. I choose this not because I feel sorry for the animals, but because it is a healthy way to live. I do not understand all the Hoo-Rah about cruelty to animals, we are on the top of the food chain for a reason. I do not see anything wrong with eating meat, as a matter of fact....I think that it tastes wonderful....And for those who say, "Nay" wouldn't it be "cruel" to deprive a dog of it natural state of mind, being a carnivor by nature? Don't get me wrong, I am not insensitive to the way that some animals are treated for the purposed of food for us, but wouldn't over population be an even greater cruelty? At least with human consumption, animals die more quickly (althought not often pleasantly) than they would with starvation due to over population. Just a thought.

  10. Well, many vegans say they do the best they can to minimise cruelty to animals.

buying chicken for your dog is not really "doing your best" in my view, its not like they are feeding starving kids, is it ?

if you buy chicken, no matter what the purpose, you are responsible for its death - thats not a vegan or veggie thing to do.

I see no ethical difference between buying meat for yourself and buying meat for an "optional" pet , It has the same impact on the animal.

  11. If loving animals is the reason why he/she becomes a vegan, he/she will never have the heart to cook the 'flesh' of the animals.

  12. It's really a personal decision. I live with omni's and I have on occasion had to help with dinner, which contained meat. I don't generally like to prepare or touch it, but if I really have to I will. I just won't eat it.

  13. I have to cook meat on very rare occasions at work (less than 10 or so times a year). I do not like it, it is gross but until I am independently wealthy that is just the way it is. I thought about it and do some "guilt" but I have always claimed to be a whishy-washy vegan and that is just the way it is.
