  1. Wales CAN beat SA....but I wil let you know that they are the #1 team in the world.....habana on williams....I am still going with Habana....Plus SA is just sick good at every position....I dont think Wales is really the favorite when playing against any of the tri-nations and also ARG...The sides for the six nations were alot diffrent then what we saw at the world cup. The possibility for them to beat the springboks is still there but I would still predict that SA would come out on top.

  2. It is sad to see all these Welsh fans having delusions of grandeur simply because the Welsh side managed to upset France.

Simply stated the Boks are the defending world champions and currently ranked #1 in the world.  It was considered an upset when Wales managed to beat France and France is not even one of the big three.  Meaning they are not Australia, the New Zealand all Blacks or South Africa.  You may take this opportunity to say goodbye to the upset streak by Wales!

If not I hope you all get it on tape because I would love to have a copy of the biggest upset in recent rugby history, but I believe that is a tape I will never see.

  3. Why not.  Wales gave Australia a real fright last year.  Colin Charvis turned the clock back and outplayed George Smith, one of the world's premier flankers.

If Wales click, like they did in the 6N, there's no reason why they can't beat the Boks

  4. no way

  5. yeah wales r great

  6. If Wales can score more points than South Africa, they will have beaten them.  On the other hand, Whales couldn't touch South Africa, except at the Cape of Good Hope.

  7. On the day any of the top teams can beat South Africa. If the Welsh have a good outing and the Boks aren't clicking ,they can win but on paper it doesn't look it.Although the coaches mite be the deciding factor as the Boks aren't too fond of their new boss but Wales love theirs.

  8. Sure they can.Any one team can bet another if the timing is right. Get South Africa to travel there now and play then on a typical Welsh evening. You know, cold, wet, miserable. Just ask the Melbourne Storm.

  9. no way africas has it going on man u dont know????!!!!

  10. They have a bit of work to do.

So much depends on how the Bokke recombine and jell with their new coaching staff.

Of course Wales can do it, but the 6 Nations is not the best measuring stick.

Wales showed that they have the mental toughness and physical presence to put together some great defensive patterns. Will need to step up a couple of notches against the Bokke - some of the RSA S14 teams are ripping the rush D of Kiwi and Aussie teams to shreds at moment.

The RSA forwards are loaded with "meat walls" that will take a lot of punishment and give it back, and then get up and run through you -Bakkies Botha, Burger, Spies (hopefully Mattfeild) - unreal.

Next step is to build some attack patterns. Build pressure, force errors. Wales has always been good at scoring tries so this shouldn't be a major issue, but accuracy, clinical finishing, and making every opportunity count will be necessary for the full 80. Can't have a slow start against RSA, especially in Africa. Must have fast clinical sets to pressure and force errors . . . if they can do that, the tries will come and maybe, just maybe, the Welsh defence will hold.

Exciting stuff for Wales - don't think many people appreciate how good this Welsh team could become.

  11. For all you folks saying "Wales never this" or "Wales don't do that."..it is irrellevent.

This team is totally different from other welsh teams.

They are handled differently, they think differently they travel differently, they train differently they have a hard edge and a defence that the greatest rugby minds in the Northern Hemisphere have failed to break down, and where the opposition has got to destroy it's own fitness to get a single try.

The only thing that makes them recognisable is a red jersey and a faint whiff of lamb ****.

They can beat South Africa (twice).
