  2. Yes, even Niagra Falls has frozen in the past.  Its just water.

  3. Yeah tottally!! and I have some great pictures of frozen waterfalls that have changed into giant columns of ice. Ice climbing on frozen waterfalls is a great winter sport.

  4. Yes, still water freezes at 32 degrees F.  The larger the water fall and the faster the river the colder it takes to freeze it.

  6. They certainly can.  In fact there is a sport in which people climb frozen water falls using equipment similar to that for climbing mountains.

  7. no, its impossible, for water to freeze, the molocules must be completely still, and the water falls on our earth are not located in any areas cold enough to freeze a moving water fall, could you imagine niagara falls freezing in its tracks?? i dont think so

  10. yes, and they look so pretty. I think it was in Scotland I saw my first frozen waterfall, but I may be mistaken. I don't know whether it gets cold enough there?

  13. Absolutely! The Colorado muntains are full of waterfalls that freeze in the winter. The frozen cascades are beautiful, and I understand some people really love the challenge of climbing them. By midsummer they are fully wet again, but as the cold weather becomes more and more frequent they become more and more solid.

  16. i was in buffalo new york in the late 80's,where it borders saint catherings canda,niagra falls was frozen over.it was an incredible sight.

  22. yes niagra falls has frozen a couple of times most recently in the 1900's andin antarctica waves from the ocean have frozen search for pictures of both of these on google.
