Can We HAve A Roached MAne??????

CAn my paint have a roached mane in western pleasure?

or can it only be cut? if so, how long does it need to be?

See what the Rules are in Western Pleasure. I keep my Paint at about 5 inches.

the rules for paint and quarter horses, is that the mane can be pulled (4 inches) roached, or natural length.

Depending on what kind of show you're going to be in. i would say yes, you can.

But if you are planning on going to a paint breed show.. then i wouldn't do it if i were you!

If you're going to show I wouldn't raoch the mane.  2-3 inches long, banded, is the normal thing to do for showing.  I keep my horse's mane about two inches long so I can band it easier, plus he has such a pretty neck it accentuates it.  If your horses throatlatch isn't as clean as it should be make the bridlepath a little longer.  A couple inches long is enough for a bridlepath, just enough for the bridle or halter to rest in.
