Can Yahoo! Mobile IM'ing send/recieve SMS?

What I'm asking, is can Yahoo! Mobile Instant Messaging interact (send, be replied) with regular SMS? The SMS reciepiants carrier is Verizon, and mine is Cingular. Both are U.S. phones.

Yes it can. Both Cingular and Verizon are supported wireless carriers for text messaging in YM. You must register your mobile number first. To register, sign in to YM, click "Messenger" on the upper left, scroll down then click "Sign in to Mobile Device". Follow the instructions given. It's that easy. Hope this helps.
