Can Yani Tseng win the CN Canadian Women's Open 2012
Current world number one Yani Tseng might have messed up in recent tournaments, but she is determined to do her best at the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, slated to be played from August 20-26, at The Vancouver
Golf Club.
Tseng and her fans have the belief that she can start winning again. She may have been faltering in recent tournaments and recording grim finishes, but she can make the most of an opportunity she is going to
have at the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012.
In terms of position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, Tseng has been indomitable so far and her rivals still find it pretty hard to beat her. Her game has been perfect mainly because she has always hated
battling defensively.
However, the last few tournaments have not been lucky for the Taiwanese star, as she struggled to remain in contention all this time.
Analysts said that there is little doubt Tseng will walk away without putting up a tough fight, and clinging to her world number one position has now become her first priority.
However, a question looms whether the top-ranked prodigy can replicate her 2011 performance and win the event with ease despite losing a series of tournaments in the current season.
Tseng, who appears to be fighting for her survival, kicked off the 2012 season in impressive style. She has won 3 events for the season—something that shows the professional golfer is still able to get back
on track.
Tseng’ last victory for the season came at the Kia Classic in March 2012. Her game was worth seeing, as she dazzled with an incredible display of solid putting and swing.
Tseng is certain that she is capable enough to make a dramatic comeback this year, and has repeatedly vowed to protect her number one position from her nearest rivals.
The landslide of trophies and titles will keep coming, as the Taiwanese golfer is no stranger to these things. At the moment, the only thing that matters is Tseng protects her top spot from players like American
Stacy Lewis and South Korean Na Yeon Choi, who have already shown how desperately they want to topple the number one golfer from her position.
No matter what her rivals may be planning for the future, Tseng is currently besieged by mixed emotions. She regrets her woeful performance wondering what has gone wrong with her putting and resilience, while
at the same time, she can have a big sigh of relief that she is still hard to subdue in terms of world rankings.
Tseng, who has held the number one spot in the Women’s World Golf Rankings for a over a year now, is not ready to shrug off her lousy performance in some of the latest events as she wants to know where she
may improve and how to avoid making the same mistakes again.
The CN Canadian Women’s Open can prove lucky for the LPGA titan, as she is still trying to win the tournament. American Brittany Lincicome is the defending champion of the tournament, and she has already vowed
to retake the title this year.
Lincicome ranks among the hot favourites to win the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, due to her last-year performance, but there are plenty of other contenders who can give a tough time to Tseng.
The field will feature prominent Asian, American and European players such as Na Yeon Choi, Suzann Pettersen, Shanshan Feng and Ai Miyazato.
