  1. when you do yoga  it will get you get the toxins out but you have to drink allot of water. i never got sore if you get into a hot tub.

  2. Absolutely!

  3. I'm actually not surprised at all that you got sick from yoga. I don't think its yoga that made you sick, you might have already had a cold stirring, but doing something such as yoga can definitely bring it out. When I went for a massage a few weeks ago, the masseuse told me the same thing-to drink plenty of fluids because a massage loosens up the body's toxins. Well, when I woke up the next morning I had a low grade fever, a runny nose, and aches like I had the flu. I think massages and yoga definitely have great benefits for your body-but if you haven't done them in a while (or you are first timers like you and me) it can definitely kick up toxins that make you sick. I think you should try again though-maybe with frequent practice (and drinking a lot of water after) it won't happen again and you will probably be healthier because eventually all of those toxins will come out! Good luck and feel better! In the meantime, plenty of rest and Vitamin C!

  4. Idk if it makes you sick but it can make you sore this girl i knew takes yoga and she didnt get sick. she got sore

  5. Hi,

There's a  Chinese proverb that says, "One who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; one who does not ask a question remains a fool forever." I think you posed a good question, not a weird one.

I've been a yogini (a female who practices yoga) from childhood, a yoga student for more than 40 years, and a yoga teacher. There are a lot of factors to consider before saying, "Yes, your class triggered your sickness." Yoga alone? No.

    Factors include:

    - one's current state of health and lifestyle (e.g., you might be short on sleep, coming down with something, emotionally stressed, etc. - in which case any exertion might have pushed you over the edge)

    - one's age and level of fitness

    - the type of yoga, as well as the teacher's experience

    - one's approach. Yoga is an attitude. Sometimes people push beyond their limits, especially when new, perhaps embarrassed when their neighbor is more limber. If a person is sore after a class, they weren't doing yoga.

I'm glad you took a class, and hope you plan to continue. If so, I recommend also bringing your question to your teacher. She/he can best understand your individual response, considering the factors I mentioned. That's what they're there for; it's part of being a (good) teacher.

On the other hand, people shop for clothes, cars, houses, etc. If the class or teacher is not a fit, it's worth taking the time to shop around.

I hope you are feeling better, and enjoy a lifetime of the best yoga has to offer. Take care.

  6. Yoda can do a lot of things, but I don't think he can make you sick. Besides, that sounds like something Darth Vader would do, not Yoda.

  7. no its not. i do yoga everyday and somtimes dont drink lots of water. you being sick has absolutely nothing to do with yoga

  8. maybe u were allergic to the teacher lol

  9. i would say, it is purely a coincidence that you fell sick on the same day.. Yoga is so powerful for the body n mind. I'll never harm if you practice it correctly as the directions given by teacher. just skip the classes for a week at least and then restart everything.. feel better..
