Can You Bridge a 4 Channel amp into 1 channel?

i have a 4 channel amp but need all the rms to run 1 sub

  1. you dont need to use all the channels, it wont improve sound quality.  just use one channel.  maybe hook the rear speakers up to it too, to ease the strain on you head unit.

Do not bridge more than two channels at a time because bridging will produce too much current and the power supply will not be able to handle it.  Furthermore the heat sinks are not designed to handle so much power and they will not dissipate enough heat away from the output devices. And one final thing.  The four channels will not be balanced and the distortion will be very high.  I urge you not to do it.  If your amp is bridgeable then two channels is all that you do without damage.  Make sure that your amp is bridgeable otherwise even two channels bridged can cause excessive current and high heat.
