  1. Yep..DSL use the ethernet port, while wireless device can use USB or PCI devices.

  2. Yes, as one will work trough your Ethernet port while the other will work through your wireless card. But you will only be able to use one at a time.

  3. Yes.  DSL brings the internet into your house.  Wireless spreads it through your house with a bubble of radio signals.

  4. Yes.

Just to clarify, DSL is your actual internet "connection", linking you to the world wide web.

Wireless is a technology (found in routers) that allows you to broadcast your "connection" throughout your home, allowing it to be used by wireless devices (such as laptops, PDAs, etc).

Make sure, however, that if you decide to buy a wireless router that you have a wireless device first (like a laptop with wireless capabilities), because it would be pointless to buy it unless you had one.

    Best of luck!

  5. If you mean true "wireless" Internet through a cell phone modem, yes.  The two are totally separate.

And if you mean conventional "wireless," that goes through your DSL modem, so yes t that too.

I'm no expert on the costs, but it would seem to me that wireless through a cell phone modem would be very expensive compared even to the cost of a wireless router for your DSL (which may already have wireless built into the modem).

    Hope that helps.
