Can You Make a Turtle Costume?

Question

I need to make a turtle costume for an adult male.

I've got the mask/head piece taken care of, but i'm kind of stumped as to how I can make a quick and easy Shell and body?

I've got a few ideas for the body, but the shell is stumpin' me!

Any tips?

How good of a shell are you looking for?  I'm thinking that you could always cut out pieces of cardboard and cover them in different shades of green ducktape.  And if you cut them into the right shapes, they should create a dome like a shell.

I would sew a pillow in the oval shape that you would like and then attach it to the body of the costume or with straps around the body. You can use foam sheets to stuff it so it isn't heavy and it will hold the shape.

This may give you some ideas.  Also, I have seen a shell made out of a small shallow plastic tub that was painted and worn like a backpack.
