  1. Sure, you can do a double major, just understand that it may take you an extra year or 2 to finish both majors do the number of requirements required for both degree programs as well as the general education components.

  2. Certainly.  I am majoring in both mathematics and computer science.

There are not any restrictions on how many majors you can receive.  The main thing to consider is how long you want to be in college.  You can go to college your whole life and rack up 15 majors if you want, but then you never have time to use them.

If you want to graduate in 4 years, it's still possible with two majors, but chances are they need to be similar and have a lot of overlap.

I intend to graduate in 4 years (this is my last year) with a major in math and one in computer science.  It works out because a lot of the classes count towards both majors.

If you are looking at nursing and computer engineering, then it will be a huge difference, and you may want to pick one or the other.  There will be little overlap in the classes other than the core classes everybody has to take regardless of his/her major.  If you go through with it, you will simply have to take a lot more classes than if you chose two similar majors with a lot of overlap, and thus you will be in school longer (and thus higher costs as well).

I don't know about nursing, but if you want a good school in Georgia for computer engineering go to GA Tech if possible.  Best school in Georgia and also great school nationally (I believe ranked 9th out of all schools for CS).  Best of all, the cost of attendance is quite low considering how good of a school it is.  Difficult to get into though.

Another school that seems to do well in CS (computer science) is Mercer University.  It's a private school so it costs more, but I do believe they have a good CS department and program.  They also do really well in programming competitions (along with GA Tech) if that is of interest to you.  Very nice campus as well.

  3. double majors are very good! they help out a lot and they are very impressive on a resume`. it just takes a little while longer to finish them. ive known people to tripple major, so, it just depends on what you want in life. get what you can now, though, cause going back to school later in life is hard.

  4. Yes, you can double-major; or take a major, and minor in something else.  Most colleges do have a limit on the number of units you can take, so you can't major in everything.

You should talk with your school counselor to discover the best colleges for your interests.
