Can You Travel To Cuba By Means Of Another Party?

I know that the rules of US citizens going to Cuba are restricted. I was wondering if you could travel there by means of a second party... such as going to Mexico and then from Mexico take a plane into Cuba.

Is that allowed?

  1. Most people go through Mexico and then take a plane to Cuba.  When the immigration agent in Cuba sees your U.S. Passport they will either just pass you through or stamp the entry visa on a separate sheet of paper, so you can throw it away before re-entering the U.S.

This is not unusual... for years they did this in Israel so that travelers could stop off in Israel and still enter arab countries and the arabs did the same thing in reverse.

  2. Of course you can.But be prepared in coming back (to the U.S.).You could be detained and questioned!!

  3. You can technically get there through Mexico or Canada. However, it's still a violation of US law for US citizens to engage in travel-related transactions with Cuba - regardless of how you get there.

See the Consular Information Sheet for Cuba at www.travel.state.gov for details on the law.

  4. Yes, it is. People do this often. There are even businesses that cater to Americans looking to go to Cuba.

  5. It is against US rules to travel without a licence - however you go.

Many thousands of US citizens do trave to Cuba every year, and only a very small proportion ever have any problems.

  6. If you have the opportunity of visiting the Cayman Islands, you could pick up an inexpensive flights from there, as it is very close. You may find this site of interest. http://www.cubalinda.com/English/TravelA...
