  1. If it's a smartphone pda and it's not from Verizon or Sprint then yes.

  2. smartphones are like pdas + mobile phones

  3. I have a blackberry Pearl with AT&T... I use a sim card!

  4. a PDA is a mobile handheld computer

a Smartphone is a mobile phone combined with a PDA.

    the only Smart phones are:-

Blackberry range, Palm Treo Range, iPhone, Nokia Nseries (just) and now the HTC smart phones.

you can only put a SIM in these smartphone/PDA's other PDA's don't have the ability to take one !

  5. If it is a pda phone for a gsm network yes.

If it is just a pda no.

Now it is possible to get an adapter to do it on some pda's

  6. No a PDA is  a handheld computer it is not a phone at all

  7. you definitely can put a sim card in a PDA if its got arrangement to do so, or if you are geek enough u can burn ur own circuit in it but its totally not worth it and its risky.

Actually this whole technology is every priliminary stages. PDA's where developing and Mobile phone boom came, people started integrating circuits and there was this immense need of having PDA+Phone and so SmartPhone came. but still companies are too confused them selves. now HP makes pure pda with / without phone with phone thy call it  messenger. but ya

a PDA can definitely be a phone  but not every PDA

I hope that was of any use

    Cheers
