You mean a refuge (a refugee is something completely different!).

I would suppose so if they had enough land, money, and necessary permitting to keep the animals.  I know someone who is a vet that has a rescue center for large cats (lions, tigers, mountain lions) although these are animals that are born in captivity.  Also a number of wildlife rehabilitators who care for injured wildlife on their own properties.
