I am 14 and want a job. The only job that sounds good to me is waitressing because of the tips. But would anyone hire me because of my age? I am old enough for a job, just not sure if i would get hired. If i can please tell me of any place in the mobile, alabama area that would hire me. thanks!

  1. 14 is a little young, at least for my states age. I'm afraid the only way you might be able to waitress is if you have connections with people or if your family owns a restaurant. It's all about child labor laws. If you can't find a waitress's job, then try posting babysitting signs, or lawn mowing signs. That's what me and my friends did when we were your age.

  2. nope. too young. they usually dont hire kids in shops and restaurants. anything serving people... people generally dont trust kids to handle people, and complaints.

  3. try to get a workers permit first.

  8. Nope. Sorry. I live in Alabama too. You have to be at least 16, but most places will only hire 18+ to work there.  Try babysitting, or dog walking, or places like McDonalds.

    Good Luck!!
