  1. im not sure in terms of the law, however, i highly doubt they would hire you because you are so young.

  2. I do not believe that there are any labour laws preventing it in Ontario BUT the owners/managers may not want to employ you because they feel that you may be too young.

Consult the Ontario Ministrey of Labour for the answer

  3. If you have a social insurance number and they hire 14 year olds then you could well have a job.

  4. Go into the store, and ask for the manager.  Try to make sure you go at a time when the store is not super busy, and ask.  If the manager says they hire 14 year olds, then ask for an application.  Fill it out and get it back to them.  Try to write neatly and spell correctly.  That impresses managers.

  5. Legally they can hire you but chances are they won't.

While you are able to get a Social Insurance Number once you turn 12, there are labour laws that prevent anybody under the age of 16 from working more than 3-4 hours a day. An employer would want you to be there for a full shift unless they need somebody specifically to fill in for a shorter period of time.

You can try to apply, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

  6. My sister worked at Dairy Queen in North York when she was 13 so of course a 14 years old can work at Dairy Queen but I cannot guarantee about the Newmarket location. It's only up to them.

You have to have Social Insurance Number in order to have a job.
