Can a 15 and 1/2 year old get a job at starbucks, or is their min. age 16?

I want to get a summer job at starbucks, but im not sure if they hire anyone under 16. help?

  1. I am assuming you are in school. So just go to the main office at your school and ask for a work permit. I believe your parents and someone from your school have to sign it as well as your employer when you land the job. Then you are free to work 4 or 5 hours a day during the week and 8 hours per day on the weekend. If you have a work experience program at your school you may receive school credit for your work as well as an increse in the hours you are able to work during the week.

  4. I don't think they hire until your at least 18 there, because they deal with hot water, hot coffee, that would be considered a problem for anyone that is not an adult.  The only places I know that hire at your age is fast food and then you are limited to cleaning tables and floors and the cash register you can't cook until your older it has something to do with child labor laws, your also limited on the hours  you work too.
