  1. He may be having a lot of stress in his life right now -- and he doesn't have control over certain things. Or he may be very tired and doesn't get up in the night or hold it

  2. Sometimes Weting the bed is brought on by stress. Ask him if anything is stressing him out???

  3. well wetting the bed usually means a big change or he could be drinking to much liquid or he could be having some thing eles like wet dreams it could be sperm is what im saying witch means he hasn't been masturbating witch is all right

  4. Just a quick mention.. it is NOT "too many fluids before bed". If YOU drank 5 glasses of water before going to sleep, would you wet YOUR bed? Of course not.. this is an old wives tale.

Normally, bedwetting, even at your sons age, happens as a part of normal development. However, most of the time it would be what is called "Primary Enuresis", which means that he has ALWAYS wet the bed, since he was born.

What you have described is called "Secondary Enuresis", since he has been dry for a long time and has recently started. Secondary enuresis has a slightly higher relationship to "emotional" difficulties, however even still only a small percentage are caused by anything like that. Also, it is more likely to be caused by something physical (infection, abnormal growing patterns, and many other possibilities). Some of them are serious, so it is important to get him checked out by his Pediatrician.

It is also possible that no cause can be found. Sometimes this happens for no apparent reason, and can't really be helped, and will likely go away by itself in time.

The important thing is to make sure that you minimise the impact this has on your son, as teenagers already have a lot of stress to deal with. Let him know that you are not upset with him, and that you understand that it isn't his fault.

The drynites are great if he doesn't mind wearing them. They allow him to deal with the problem privately, and nobody even has to know if he had an accident. At his age he may not find them absorbant enough, and may need to move to an adult diaper of some sort, but hopefully they will work.

Make sure he understands the expectation for hygene, and that he showers after every wet night and disposes of the diaper properly. Likewise, if he refuses to wear protection, put a waterproof sheet on the matress and let him know that he is responsible for washing wet sheets and re-making the bed. This isn't done as a punishment, just as an acceptance of self-responsability.

Over all, I wish you both the best of luck, and hang in there!

  5. He may not be 'wetting the bed' but instead is having 'wet dreams' where he experiences and erection and the ejaculate that indicates all of his male genitalia are working properly.

Teach him to descretely clean up himself and change the sheets on  his bed.

    This isn't a big deal, it's a boy becoming a man.

  6. Call your Doctor and ask for suggestions.  Also be sure you don't have any medications laying around or in medicine cabinets that your son could get hold of.  Teens have been known to experiment with their parents left over medications. One more thing - keep all alcohol in your house accounted for.  I am not accusing your son of taking drugs or drinking, I just tried to cover the most common scenarios for your question.  I hope everything works out ok for you both!

  7. You might want to talk to your doctor! THIS IS A SIGN OF DIABETES! My friend started do it when he was 16 and then they found out he had type 2 diabetes. So really ask your doctor. Better be safe than sorry.

  8. My sister is still wetting the bed at 18 mabye you have a problem you should see a doctor?

  9. Time to see the doctor. You need to rule out infection, kidney trouble, seizures, or some kind of emotional trauma.
