Can a 15 year old work in a supermarket?

im looking for a summer job nd saw a help wanted sign on the window of a near by supermarket. this is in Brooklyn. i was wondering if i can work as a cashier or sumthing. T__T

Sure. The only department you can't work is the Deli due to the slicers. You have to be 16 for that department

I think you can but just go in and ask them .The stock boys are all young and i knew one that was 15 and a half and he works all the time.Just have to fnd one  willing to hire you and i think you need a permit from school.
