I am moving and I have called delta airlines and they said I could take my dog on the flight with me.. they said she has to be in a crate and she will be below my feet under the seat.. well she is a puppy but by the time my flight leaves she will be a little bigger about 15 lbs.. she is a short dog and will fit in a small kennel.. but I dont think she is small enough to fit under those seats they give you.. does anyone have any experience on how strict they are on that policy.. does she have to actally fit undeeeeer the seat in front of me or can she just be in her crate below my seat on the floor.

  1. they can be sticklers for detail and under the seat is where we usually have to stash everything else to avoid being chewed out by the steward police.  iIfyou can convince them that the crate won't go flying during take-off and landing and can manage to avoid insulting them, it should be OK.  You won't be able to take anything else as they've put huge restrictions on carry-on baggage.  Your other option of course is to send her as freight.  Either way, she isn't going to like this experience much.

  2. Yes, the crate has to be able to fit under neath the seat. Depends on what airline tho. Try searching on the airline's website. I'm sure there will be rules and guidelines in there. : ) But when I was flying Delta, my little 8 pound dog could barely fit under my seat :/ Also, My dog was so scared on the airplane and kept whimpering. People were getting mad behind us.... Good luck tho!

  3. I saw it on AFV one time. It was Hilarious!

  4. no she doesn't ave to be under, but she does have to be close to under as you can get
