Can a 16 year old buy a new motorcycle from a dealer?

i live in california, and i was told by one of my family members that a motorcycle dealership will not let a 16 year old buy a new motorycle even if i have my permit.. is this true? or am i getting told wrong information?

  2. You can buy it, as long as your parents or legal guardian are there to co-sign.

  3. If you had the cash in hand I can't believe that they wouldn't take it.  You have to be 18 or have a co-signer for a loan though.

  4. they are correct. you must be 18 years old to conclude a deal.

  5. No because your not old enough to sign a vlaid contract or own a vehicle in your name.

  6. A minor cannot enter into a contract.

    The dealer will try to sell it to you.  And will resist returning your money.  But if they were forced (sued) then (only then) they would return the money.

    But that would be long and expensive deal.
