i have a friend who has been kicked out of the house..she is 17 years old..but she is not from the united states of america... she is from africa..but she has been in the U.S. for almost 10 years..and she graduated with a diploma...

her mother kicked her out and would not let her get back in the house... so will she get into trouble of will the mother get in trouble..?

how about if the mother goes and reports her to the police that she is not a citizen in the states? will the girl get deported?

How about if the girl is stilled kicked out of the house and the mother reports to the police that her daughter is not at home. will she get into trouble of since she lives in texas...they cant force her to come back home?

  1. NO, but the mother can get in trouble, do you friend a favor and report her mom.. she's responsible for her till she 18...

  2. I have to agree with MS.  It is the mother's responsibility to raise her child to adulthood.  She's not there yet, so it's the mother's job to take care of her.

Her mother would be putting herself at risk by reporting your friend as an illegal immigrant.  This means that either the mother is also an illegal immigrant, or she smuggled an illegal immigrant into the country, which would get the mother in trouble.

If the mother refuses to let your friend come home, but then reports her as a runaway to the police, the police will only help her, by bringing her back home, and ensuring that the mother lets her in.

IMO, you should ask your parents to help.  It sounds as if none of you want to have the authorities involved.  Maybe your parents could speak with your friend's mom, and explain the legal process, so that she understands completely.  Alternately, could your parents let her stay with you until she can get her citizenship?  It sounds to me as if she's fairly responsible (getting her diploma and all), so she might be able to get the process started quickly.

  3. That would be child abuse and the girl would most likely  be turned over foster care and the mother would be arrested for child endangerment, child abuse.
