It's not me. It's for my aunt. Her son son says he is going to marry the girl. And my aunt wants to know if hes telling her the truth.

  1. um i don't think so.  I think he should wait until she's  sixteen or seventeen.

  2. Ew. I hope not

  3. Uh...i hope for both of their sakes it's not.

  4. idk.

  5. http://usmarriagelaws.com/search/united_...

    It says:

Under 18: If either the bride or groom is under 18, at least one of the minor's parents, or legal guardian, must appear with the couple. Certified copies of birth certificates are required. The couple must also schedule an appointment with a counselor and then appear before a superior court judge.

This site may not be updated, so you may want to call the courthouse and ask.  Phone numbers for the courthouses are at the bottom of the page.

  6. in the state of ca im pretty sure you have to be 16 with parental consent

but i had a friend in the similar situation but hopefully everything works out :)

  7. actually he can do it but the only way he can is if he gets his parents consent. Please select me for best answer

  8. I don't think so but a 19 year old can be arrested, charged, and forever market on the s*x offender's list for sleeping with a 14 year old.

  9. First of all, ewwww.....

There are laws in place in most states that a person needs to be at least 15-16 years old and must have a parent's consent.

What's the rush for getting married?

  10. no, you both need to be 18 to legally get married. or at least 16 with parents permission. but 14, no way, it's illegal.

  11. No, and technically, your cousin is a pedophile.

  12. I just moved away from there and I am almost positive that you need your parents to sign a form giving their permission. So maybe her parents are willing to or maybe she's been emancipated by the courts and is now legally able to make her own decisions. If not, I'm pretty sure they can't.

  13. Eewww. He needs therapy. If he loves her, can't he wait until she's eighteen?

  14. That is just wrong. The girl is still that: a girl. If your cousin is having sexual relations with her, he can go to prison for statutory rape. If he truly loved her he would wait until she was older before asking her to make such major life decisions.

In all states she can marry without parental consent at 18, and with parental consent at 16 and 17.

P.S. Her mom can't make him do anything. That's where his parents come in who apparently are inept for the duty that comes with having children if they're letting their son get bullied into marriage.

  15. a 14 year old cannot get married.

    1. if they are sleeping together the 19 year old is committing statutory rape. (just for your information)

    2.  You can get married at 16 IF your parents sign a legal paper saying you are allowed. (no younger than 16 though). and obviously you can get married at 18 without anyone's permission.

Looks like they won't be together, at least for 2 years. sorry.
