Can a 1997 Chevy Cavalier transmission work in a 1997 Z24 Cavalier?

  1. the transmission will not fit if it is from a 2.2 litre  engine going into a 2.4 litre. the z24 has a 2.4 litre engine and needs a transmission from a 1996-1999 cavalier z24 or same year of sunfire gt's. i have replaced my transmission in my z24 twice now and know from experience.
