it should be possible. a mechanic who works on these things told me that the main problems associated with e85 in older cars are the following:

any electronic sensors in the fuel system can delaminate and become inoperable due to the alcohol content. Also you need to exchange all rubber  hoses, -seals and -gaskets with alcohol resistant ones, any that come in contact with the fuel and you need to adjust the timing.
