Can a 3 prong 220 dryer cord fit a 125 250 30 amp plug?

My new house has a 30 amp 250 outlet for the dryer. How do I go about converting this to a fit my 3 prog 220 volt dryer. Do I need to change the curcit, outlet, cord on the dryer or some combination?

What he said.  The dryer cord is a lot easier to change than the wall socket and, also, you're not violating building code for your home.

Go to Home Depot and buy a new dryer cord with the same prong cofiguration as you new house's dryer outlet.  The dryer cord is very easy to change.
