yes. what the airline will do is they will seat you where the arm rests lift up and make you pay for two tickets and give you two seats.... unfortunately it sounds mean but that is really what they do.

Depends on how she's built, but in general, I'd say yes. Southwest's policy is that a passenger who cannot fit comfortably in a seat with the armrests down will be required to purchase a second seat for travel. if the flight does not go out full or oversell, the amount of the second seat if refunded. It would probably be a good idea to buy the second seat ahead of time just in case, rather than go through the embarrassment of being questioned at the airport, since it is a sensitive subject.
