  1. He's there with you because he is very courageous and wants to learn.  Please support him.

  2. My grandfather went to college at the same time--and at the same school--as my mom. Why? He owned his own little business, lord knows he didn't need the degree (in philosophy no less). He just wanted to learn.

There are no limits on learning...and if you are curious as to why he is 'in with you', you should ask him...he might have an interesting story.

  3. My grandmother is in her late 80's and up until she had a stroke 3 years ago she was in college! Why? Because she could! There is no age limit when it comes to bettering yourself! Today (now that she is recovering) she is looking into getting back into a college. What do we say "Go Grandma!!" It doesn't even matter what she goes for she just wants to go!

He is in with you because he chose a course (in this case his diploma) and there is room in your class so that's where he was placed. Talk to him listen to his story and learn from his mistakes! It's wonderful to have an older person around to listen to and learn from. He could probably tell you things about his life that would astound you. You never know!

  4. He is likely in an adult education program trying to earn a diploma he never got as a kid for whatever reason. You can go back to school to earn your highschool diploma at any age. That's what adult education programs are for.

  5. My mother in law went back and got her diploma after she had children, and I think it's great.  What's the problem?

  6. One of my dearest friends, lost her husband and had a lift changing decision to make...she decided to go to school.

She was 50.  She finished high school.  And went on, to graduate College.

I am a homeschooling mom, of one great boy myself... and I am sooooo proud of my friend for being able to stand up and finish the education that she couldn't finish when she was younger.

Way to go... life long learners!!

  7. yes of course youre never to old to learn

  8. You can earn your diploma at any age!  He must have dropped out of school when he was young, and for whatever reason, decided to finish his education by doing self-study.  He's probably just with you because there aren't enough older people to make a program just for adults.  You should talk to him sometime and ask him his story...maybe it would be interesting.

  9. That's odd - who exactly is homeschooling him?  His mother?  You can earn a diploma at any time in your life - I've heard of people in their 80s and 90s doing it - but not usually in homeschooling with a bunch of kids.

  10. There is no age limit , I think it is great that he wants to learn and graduate, all power to him. I got my diploma 2 years after my oldest child graduated and the same year as my middle child and 2 years before my youngest. He is in with you because that is the grade he is tested to.

I say Way To Go Pap !
