  1. yes, it is called early onset puberty

  2. Yep. That's how old I was when I started. Got it the day before my 9th birthday. Can you guess what my mom got me for my birthday present? lol

  3. Not usually, I mean, it can happen - but it's very unusual. Maybe check with the doctor, when I was 8 or 9 I got a urinary tract infection and it looked like a period... so go check.

  4. Of course.

  5. yes my bff meghan got hers at 7.

  6. it's possible, but very unlikely.

  7. Yes it's possible. It seems like girls are getting their periods earlier and earlier now. My friend got hers when she was 10. But myself and most of my other friends didn't get them til we were 12 or 13.

  8. With all the hormones put in milk these days, yes.

  9. yes, but it is very un-likely. She should be developed already though (breast development started, pubic hair, white discharge). if she is on the heavier side it is more likely because the breast development starts earlier

  10. ask her if she has it?! you wont know if its possible by asking other ppl.

  11. Yup

  12. That is early, but yes it can happen.

  13. Yes.

This can be shocking, but a girl in my town got her period at 7!

But the normal ages are 9-15.

My daughter got her's at 11.

  14. With all the hormones pumped into our food supplies in the USA and eaten in beef, chicken, milk products kids are developing faster nowadays.

  15. yes

  16. she can but its WAY to early

  17. Yes She Can

  18. It can happen, but to be safe I would have her examined by her doctor, just to make sure that, that is what it is!

  19. YES, BUT IN RARE CASES

  20. its not likely to happen but it can

  21. Absolutely.  I started mine at age 8.  That was 35 years ago, so you can't blame the hormones in food.  Has anyone ever thought to consider other factors, like everyone is different, or heredity? If it was hormones, it seems it would affect everyone, not just little girls.  You don't see boys going into puberty early (or, since it's estrogen being blamed) being effeminate, or grown people being affected.  People just like to get on their soapbox and find blame for everything, when in fact sometimes it's just nature doing it, everyone is different, otherwise, every girl would start on her 13th birthday.

  22. Yes. . .it is not common. . .12, 13 or 14 is the "norm" but it IS possible!

  23. You bet.  I did.  And, that was in the 50's.  ha. ha.  It happens.

  24. Yes she can (watch out mom and dad) It's one of those it's rare but can happen things

  25. Yes they can start as early as 7 years old but it's rare. If she is fat then that is what probably helped it. If the dad, step dad, De facto or any other father figure tries to get you to put her on the pill whoever it is could be wanting something else with her namely s*x. It's just a warning. I didn't see what name of who ask this question. I read on a website that a step father convinced his wife to put her on the pill so he could have s*x with her the mother fell for it unfortunately.

  26. yes she certainly can.

Under 8 is considered to be premature and doctors can assist mediation wise to halt the onset of puberty.

8+ is considered within normal limits.

But yes it is very very young to be stuck with them.

  27. Probrably not unless she's already developed it is rare to see an 8 year old with her period

  28. it is rare, but it can happen.  I would take her to her pediatricain just to be safe, it could be something else, like a UTI, man I hope it isn't, it is so early, and she has so many years of it left.

    good luck

  29. It can happen but its rare.

when the child is over weight it seems they some times go thru puberty earlier.

edit...i don't know why the tumbs down. thats what the pediatrician told me. i doubt he was lying.
