Can a Canadian citizen get medical insurance in the US

I'm mostly wanting to know about dental insurance and if its something you have to have a SSN to purchase/use it. if anyone can suggest any companies that'd be great too. Thanks.

  1. in many states they will not give you health insurance, in the state of massachusetts however you can have access to dental and medical insurance through the state government regardless of your immigration status... for free.

  3. Well, you don't have to be a US Citizen to get a SS number!

    But I haven't seen any private dental policies that pay out, more than they cost, either.  And they won't cover a Canadian provider - only a US one, that's "in network".  

    Between deductibles, coverage limitations,  and waiting periods, it's probably going to cost you more to buy the policy than pay the services out of pocket.
