  1. You don't pay taxes when you buy the car in the US... you pay the taxes when you go to get a license plate for the car.  Your problem wouldn't be with the purchase in the US it would be with what taxes and tarriffs the Candian government would hit you with.

  2. Depending if you buy it from a new car dealership or a used car dealership it may vary. But then I bought my car I payed about $700 for all kinds of fee's.

  3. First of all it depends on what model car.  Some manufacturers have stated to their US dealer network that they are not to sell a vehicle to Canadian residents.  Other manufacturers have not said anything ( which is essentially a green light for them ).

Some cars have to be modified ( to meet Canadian bumper standards...they are higher compared to the US, and also for daytime running lamps for many models have to be added )

You will also have to pay the Canadian taxes on your purchase once the vehicle is registered in Canada.

Since the Canadian dollar has reached parity with the US greenback, there have been many articles in Canada regarding the purchase of new and used vehicles stateside.  Do a quick search and you should find many sites with the information you need.
