Ok, so i have just burned a movie on to a blank DVD RW, I did this by using CDBurner XP. The DVD plays fine on my laptop, however, it does not work at all on my DVD player. Should it work? Or have i bought the wrong type of blank DVDs??

I really want the movies I have downloaded to play on my normal DVD player so if you have any suggestions of have I can do this that would be great.

  1. theres a diffference between a dvd-r and rw. r is recordable 1 time. rw is recordable and re recordable. this only plays in DVD players that are specifically labeled and made to do so. i would try getting some dvd-r's and the should work fine.

  2. To play it on a DVD player, you need a relatively new DVD player (2002 is new enough) and you need to encode it to DVD video. You can't just burn an .avi to a blank DVD and expect it to play on a regular DVD player.
