  1. Well i have a direct TV dvr system. And for mine you can record up too two shows at a time, the only catch to that is if you have that many things recording at once you have to watch one of the shows that are recording or it cancells them. But after you've recorded your shows you can go into your list (from the remote) and pick the shows you'd like to watch again, and if you are done then you can delete them from the remote and when its deleted it frees up the space and your free to record again.

When you first  get there it says you have 100% of free disk space, well for every hour of a show thats recorded it is 1% of space:) So that means you get 100 hours of recording, and as soon as its deleted your free to get more!

  2. Hi Chelster,

Your DVR doesn't use a disk. It uses a hard drive just like your computer uses.

It records video on the hard drive and when you are finished with it and delete it that frees up space on the hard drive.

If you always kept all your shows eventually your hard drive would get full and your DVR would not be able to record more until you removed some video.
