Can a European visiting Canada drive over the US border?

My Grandmother will be visiting us from Malta (Europe) this summer. We wanted to plan a trip to Buffalo while she's here. Is it possible for her to cross the US border while visiting Canada?

Some Europeans can cross the border without a visa as long as they are from one of the visa waiver programs and they have an acceptable passport per the requirements on the link above.

She will need a passport to get into Canada, so she can just present that passport at the US border.  Not sure if the US requires citizens of Malta to also have a Visa or not - that can be determined by looking at www.state.gov

You can if your papers are in order.  Find out if travelers from your country need a visa.
